Temple_Books Temple_Books_2 Temple_Shawls Temple_TopsWelcome to Congregation B’nai Israel, a Conservative, egalitarian congregation. The customs and obligations incumbent upon everyone entering our sanctuary or chapel are meant to encourage kavanah or intentionality, and thus deepen the experience in the services.

Worship at CBI is intimate, meaningful and genuine.  Our services, whether geared towards adults, children, or families are both welcoming and accessible, using a mixture of Hebrew and English. In addition to our clergy-led Kabbalat Shabbat on service Friday evening and our traditional Saturday morning Shabbat service in the sanctuary, we also have morning and evening minyans led by congregants.  CBI also offers youth services each week during the school year at various age levels.  Alternative study groups are offered on many Shabbat mornings and holidays.  Instrumental musical Shabbats, featuring our very own “CBI Band” are festive services with singing, dancing and spirited prayer!

Women as well as men at B’nai Israel may sit wherever they wish, be counted in a minyan, be honored at and read the Torah, lead any service, and serve as witnesses for marriage, etc.
