CBI 2-9

Welcome to CBI!

Founded in 1925, Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) is a traditional, respectful, egalitarian and multi-generational community serving a diverse cross-section of Conservative Jews. Our families live in all areas of Essex and Union counties.

Characterized by a unique blend of high energy in a low key, warm and welcoming environment, CBI is a place where congregants come together to pursue religious fulfillment, diversified programming and social and community leadership.

The congregation embraces members with different levels of observance, learning and commitment. CBI’s focus on the Jewish value of life-long learning is reflected in the warm, nurturing CBI Preschool, its award-winning Blanche Bayar Religious School and extensive family and adult education programming.

Our Shabbat and Holiday services, Adult Forum, Sisterhood, Men’s Club, Hearts & Hands, Inclusion and Youth Groups are but a few of the paths to participation in congregational life at CBI.  As a member of Congregation B’nai Israel, you will have the opportunity to make a difference at our congregation as well as the community at large (just ask us how you can get involved)!  Regular and varied activities take place in and around CBI and cater to all age groups.
