Rabbi Ari Isenberg: On My Mind

Dear Congregants,

The assault on world Jewry since October 7th has been difficult to endure. For so many of us, we had hoped that rampant Jew hatred was a matter for the history books. We’ve been brought back to reality, an unfortunate one.  In every century, sometimes more than once a century, Jew hatred has evolved to reflect the conditions of its time.  Today, in many ways, anti-Israel sentiment and rhetoric is the new modern form of Jew hatred.  Complicating this is that – for the first time in 2000 years – Jews have a nation state, an army, a government, and sovereignty.  With this comes responsibility and, invariably, mistakes are made. The duality of the assault on us all while we have more power than ever in over 2000 years can make it all very complicated and nuanced.  We are, therefore, offering two programs that speak to these related themes, separated by a week. Please see below and we hope you take advantage.

Thank you,

Rabbi Ari
