As we reflect on Chanukah and our celebration of miracles and light, I think it is important for us to consider the light and vibrancy at CBI.
Our Israel Engagement Committee has been actively involved in exploring ways for us to learn, help, and connect with our friends in Israel and at home.
Our committee is made up of amazing lay leaders committed to developing and sharing with CBI members and the broader community relevant and meaningful programming and engagement opportunities related to Israel’s past, present and future.
So far, as a committee, we have:
- Shared our congregant’s experiences in Israel, as volunteers, witnesses and ambassadors. We plan on finding more opportunities to do this and for us to learn from each other.
- Met in person as a Kehillah discussion group to share and unpack our feelings about our challenges in Israel and locally. This is an opportunity for all of us to connect with each other in a supportive and nurturing way. We plan to meet monthly and our next Kehillah is Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the CBI Library. This is an open group, so feel free to come when you’re available.
- We plan on hosting a meeting for the congregation to learn some of the seminal issues Israel is facing in her quest for stability and peace.
Our hope is to keep you informed of opportunities at CBI and in our community on topics related to Israel.
Be on the lookout for upcoming programming, join our “CBI Loves Israel WhatsApp” group (send me an email at Friedman139@aol.com to let me know you’d like to be included), share ideas, and importantly, participate and continue your support of Israel and each other.
Am Yisrael Chai!
