An Israeli Election … In America

Rabbi Paul Resnick explains the importance of the upcoming World Zionist Congress election for American Jews.

As American Jews, we are given a chance once every five years to elect representatives to the World Zionist Congress, a body that controls $1 billion in annual funding for institutions and organizations that impact the daily fabric of life in Israel.

Many of you are involved in organizations and causes that support these values in Israel – giving of your time and money. Today – we are asking for YOUR VOTE. By voting for MERCAZ | Slate #6 in the World Zionist Congress election NOW you will directly impact the future of Israel. Indeed, this election is the ONLY formal way any American Jew can have a say in decisions being made in Israel. Your vote will turn into dollars for Masorti/Conservative Judaism – OUR kind of Judaism.

VOTE MERCAZ. YOUR VOTE COUNTS AND WILL MAKE ISRAEL A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL ITS CITIZENS. SUPPORT DEMOCRACY. SUPPORT PLURALISM. SUPPORT A STRONG JEWISH STATE.

This election is our chance, as American Jews, to have a democratic say in what happens in Israel. Issues like religious pluralism, equality and inclusion for all Jews, equal access to the Kotel, continued growth of our Kehillot and the Conservative/Masorti movement in Israel, which now has hundreds of thousands of Jews affiliated, are all at stake.

Your vote for MERCAZ can leverage needed dollars. It takes just a few minutes. (There is a nominal fee to cover costs.) You can help influence the allocation of $1 billion annually of spending in Israel and around the world.

We urge you to VOTE MERCAZ Slate #6 at https://www.mercaz2020.org/

We have 62 congregants who have already voted! Our goal is to get 100 votes from CBI!

Please let me know at rabbiresnick@cbi-nj.org when you vote!

Thank you.
